Motivation, or the drive to do…
We always could do with more of it…
Most everything we do is due to the desire(positive or not), for things to happen.
In my post about change, I touched on three kinds of choices that people make on a daily basis…
[Fight(influence), Flight(to get closer or further), Adapt(personal transformation)]
Desire, or drive, is an energy that when properly channeled will have one of those three happen.
That is all fine and dandy, but how does one have it? or get it?
Good question… come back to me with and answer after your curiosity has plumbed the depths of the human psyche…
oh wait…
curiosity…
A FUEL SOURCE!!!
Emotions such as anger, fear, love, sadness, want, and curiosity(there are others i bet), are wonderful wellsprings of energy that can provide the raw energy for a drive to do.
Has there ever been a time that you have felt an emotion, bottled it, and felt tired or exhausted?
It might be because you did not expend it, but instead spent an equal amount of energy containing it…
Okay… but I can’t be happy or angry or sad all the time…
Darn right! Ever notice that your motivation can ebb and flow like your emotions?
Or have you ever been burned out on something? Your drive has either been sapped away, or counterbalanced by an opposing desire…
But how do I get some?
Well, I’m trying to figure out that one myself, and I’m not you, and you are not me, so my solution may not be yours…
However….
I can do something that will raise your drive to do…
You can do it too…
We can Inspire each other…
Ever heard a speech given that gives you energy to go do something?
Congrats, you have been inspired…
Ever been encouraged to do something?
Congrats, you have been inspired….
Synergy is very potent because one of it’s components is that people are able to inspire each other to new levels that alone… they couldn’t reach alone…
So take a second, next time you see a person that can enjoy some encouragement…
give an effort to inspire them…
in whatever awesome way you want.
